Sohum Pawar is a scientist, engineer, and policy researcher with experience helping shape systemic responses to climate change and cyber threats.

He recently graduated from MIT with an M.S. in Technology and Policy. While there, he conducted research on critical infrastructure cybersecurity, climate resilience, and energy policy. He previously earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard University, where he graduated with honors in engineering, environmental science, and public policy.

Outside academia, Sohum has a broad range of tech-driven policy experience. He has worked on cybersecurity, climate, and energy policy at the White House, assisted negotiators at the U.S. Department of State working on UN climate talks, and written speeches for the administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Beyond public service, he's also worked as a cyber threat intelligence analyst at FireEye, assessed clean energy startups for a climate-focused venture capital fund, and developed policy and strategy for an advanced nuclear reactor startup. He also has experience in journalism, having helped produce NPR's Radiolab and conducted research for The Perfect Weapon, a bestselling book which chronicles the rise of cyber warfare.

Originally from East Hanover, New Jersey, Sohum is an avid distance runner, an occasional tenor sax, and a science history enthusiast.

Sohum is serving with Representative Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and supporting on cyber and energy/environmental issues.
