Anita rao
Anita Rao is a software engineer interested in the social impact of AI and communications technology.
She holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, where she co-founded the school's first diversity hackathon, DivHacks, aimed at celebrating underrepresented voices in tech. In 2021, she received a Masters in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Machine Learning specialization.
Previously, she was a senior engineer in Qualcomm's Wireless R&D division working on 5G and AI research for industrial IoT and edge computing applications. She has contributed to smart factory demos and collaborated with Government Affairs on 5G and digital divide issues. Recently, she was on a CHIPS Design panel in Washington, D.C. to discuss the importance of semiconductor workforce and R&D investment.
Anita enjoys long-distance running and is an avid movie lover. She also enjoys tutoring and volunteering to introduce underrepresented youth to STEM careers during her free time.
Anita is working for Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) on AI, data privacy, and network issues.
