Jhonatan is a technologist driven by the potential of AI to improve lives for the public and address societal challenges. He is interested in exploring AI ethics and policy, ensuring responsible development and deployment of AI systems while safeguarding national security and civil rights. During Tech Congress, Jhonatan hopes to contribute to projects that promote AI governance and development, especially within the government.
Jhonatan has previously interned at Microsoft, Bain and Company, and the World Bank. He has published research at the EU think tank The Lisbon Council on the ramifications of AI in the workplace. Recently, he was a Stanford HAI Tech Ethics and Policy Fellow, working for the Senate Committee on Appropriations to develop systems to improve the bill-making workflow. Jhonatan received his M.S. in Management Science and Engineering and B.S. in Computer Science with a concentration on AI from Stanford University.
