Josh Chavez

After graduating with honors with a B.S. in electrical engineering from Yale—where he also won the Frank Tuteur Memorial Prize—Joshua Chavez moved to startup HawkEye 360. He spent several years developing and deploying satellite software and processing algorithms for collecting and exploiting radio frequency data for defense and intelligence users. Afterwards, Josh served as Director of Products & Technology. Simultaneously, he worked for a year as the sole engineer for startup SeaWatch Labs, developing an Android application for crowdsourced maritime domain awareness.

Josh participated in the Security and Strategy Series fellowship with the Alexander Hamilton Society and The Public Interest Fellowship. He is also an alumnus of the American Academy for Strategic Education.

In an uncertain global landscape, Josh is passionate about helping maintain the United States' competitive edge in emerging technology. With his background, he aims to focus on national security policy issues oriented towards the common good of everyday Americans.
