Lauren Luo is a software engineer with an interest in data privacy and governance.

Lauren most recently worked at Instagram, where she built privacy-aware infrastructure for consent order responses and led age data consistency and governance efforts for teen accounts. Prior to this she worked on Facebook photo infrastructure modernization.

Beyond her professional work, Lauren volunteered as a computer science teacher at a NYC public high school through the Microsoft TEALs program, and she remains a dedicated advocate for equitable access to computer science education.

Lauren holds a B.A. in computer science and American studies from Wellesley College. Her coursework in legislative drafting and participation in Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge competitions sparked her interest in technology policy. While serving in Congress, she hopes to work on policy issues such as data privacy applications in emerging technologies and youth safety online.
