Tara Burchmore
Tara Burchmore is a technologist interested in practical applications of blockchain technology and social media policy.
Most recently, she worked as a Google Public Policy Fellow, where she researched content moderation policy and legislation at the state level. Previously, Tara spent time on the Programs & Impact team at the United Nations Foundation, in philanthropy in rural Idaho, and at the Glover Park Group.
While a graduate student at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, Tara concentrated on Democracy, Politics, and Institutions and received a certificate in Management, Leadership, and Decision Sciences. She conducted research on blockchain governance with the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and investigated targeted misinformation campaigns on TikTok through the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy’s Technology and Social Change project.
Additionally, Tara was a semi-finalist in the Harvard Innovation Labs’ President’s Innovation Challenge and was a member of the Harvard University Figure Skating Club. Tara holds an A.B. in Government and Public Policy from Dartmouth College.
Tara is serving with Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) and is working on the Senate Financial Innovation Caucus and fintech issues.
