The past year has brought a lot of growth and change to communities around the world. From telehealth and online education to connecting with loved ones and organizing grassroots movements online, people are relying on technology now more than ever.
This growing reliance on technology only emphasizes the importance of creating policies that bring out the best in technology and spur innovation while safeguarding our information and privacy. We believe that in order to do this, there needs to be a technologist in the policymaking room.
Between now and February 5, 2021, we’re looking for our next class of Congressional Innovation Scholars - top engineers, computer scientists, and other technologists who want to apply their skills to some of the biggest challenges facing our country and help shape technology policy.
Even if you’ve never thought you might want to work in government, you should give the Congressional Innovation Scholars Program a look. Our fellows have made invaluable contributions to technology policy, from working on the House Judiciary Committee’s Antitrust Subcommittee report on Big Tech to passing the OPEN Government Data Act into law.
Throughout the next six weeks, we’ll be holding informational events and calls where you can ask us questions, meet the fellows, and learn more about the fellowship. The fellowship will run from mid-June 2021 to mid-April 2022, and fellows receive a $60,000 annual-equivalent stipend ($5000 / month) and other benefits.
We hope you’ll join us and apply!
