Dylan is a technologist interested in constructing robust, sustainable, and equitable digital systems. Through TechCongress, Dylan hopes to explore the ways in which policy can inform technology deployment for maximum societal benefit. He’s most interested in issues related to government modernization and transparency, open-source software, and science & innovation.
Previously, he developed and maintained large-scale backend services at Flexport, a freight forwarding startup. In addition, Dylan actively contributed to technical learning and mentorship through Flexport’s engineering blog, internal tech talk series, and internship program.
Dylan has also served as a Civic Digital Fellow, gaining experience building public interest technology for the federal government. Working within the Technology Transformation Services, Dylan performed user research, built novel tools, and established repeatable processes to improve the TTS Handbook, the publicly-accessible guide that employees use to do their work. Dylan earned his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
