TechCongress is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that recruits technologists to serve in the U.S. Congress. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, email list, application and nomination forms, and lead generation forms (including those hosted on platforms such as LinkedIn), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly and certain information collected automatically when you visit our site:

  • Information you provide: your name and email when you subscribe to our updates or submit a form; and, when you apply to or nominate someone for a fellowship, the details requested on those forms (such as contact information, professional and educational background, and your responses).

  • Information collected automatically: usage and device data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) and information from cookies and similar technologies.

How we use and share it

We use this information to send communications you have requested, review and respond to applications and nominations, recruit and communicate with fellows, respond to inquiries, and measure and improve our outreach and advertising.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate our website, email, forms, and advertising; with advertising platforms when you submit a form there; and when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Our site is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our site may link to third-party websites governed by their own policies. We may update this policy and will revise the effective date above when we do.
