Selection Timeline
Our selection process typically consists of 5 steps, detailed below:
Application Review: Our technical selection panel reviews each application and scores them based on their motivations, qualifications, and technical translation skills. The TechCongress Selection Team then selects candidates to move forward to the first round of interviews.
Round 1 Interviews: Selected candidates participate in a 20-minute interview to talk through their motivations for applying to the fellowship and their technical translation skills. Each person receives an interview guide, which discusses logistics and provides them with resources they can use to get the most out of their interview.
Round 2 Interviews: The Selection Team advances a number of candidates to the second round of interviews, which consists of a 45-minute conversation over Zoom. Similarly to the first round of interviews, each candidate gets a guide to help them prepare for this.
Reference Checks: The TechCongress Team conducts reference checks. As we note during our informational sessions and on the application itself, we will notify candidates before we reach out to their references.
Offers: The TechCongress Team will make offers to selected candidates!

For the January 2027 Fellowship, we are aiming to have the cohort finalized by mid-November 2026.
