Eric Lukoff

Eric has spent his career at the intersection of social justice and technology, with extensive experience in software development, nonprofit leadership, and politics. Most recently, he was Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer at One Degree, a technology-driven nonprofit organization that empowers poor and marginalized individuals to find and access food, housing, health care, and other social services and public benefits. Eric joined One Degree as a member of its founding team in 2013, and led the organization in scaling its work to regions around the country, ultimately helping hundreds of thousands of people get support in moments of crisis and achieve economic mobility.

Eric has played key roles in developing other major consumer web platforms, including Change.org, Vote.org, and VoteAmerica. He has also worked closely with government leaders, including in Los Angeles County, where he worked to modernize the way residents there find and access community resources, homelessness services, and COVID-19 testing.

Previously, Eric also worked on several federal, state, and local political and issue advocacy campaigns. He has a B.A. in Computer Science and Political Science from Goucher College. He is currently pursuing his J.D. at American University Washington College of Law’s evening program.

Eric is serving with Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) and working on a variety of tech and telecommunications issues.
