B is a technology and facilitation expert who is deeply passionate about creating social change by empowering everyone to participate in technological and social governance. Most recently, they were a Program Lead focusing on labor and economic implications of AI development at the Partnership on AI, a non-profit multi-stakeholder initiative to address the most important and difficult decisions on the future of artificial intelligence.
Previously, B served as Senior Engagement Lead for IBM's AI division, the Watson Group, where they led strategic conversations with world leaders about implementing Artificial Intelligence in the real world. In 2017, B was recognized as an IBM LGBT+' Out Role Model' for championing diversity and inclusion in and beyond IBM. Prior to IBM, B was both Product Development and Community Director at Exploding Kittens, a record-breaking crowdfunded card game startup. B also co-led Phenomenon Media 501c3, an arts and education non-profit, developing an educational tool for teaching code without the need for computers.
B received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas, and was selected as an MIT-Harvard Assembly Fellow for the 2019 Ethics and Governance in Artificial Intelligence Initiative cohort.
B is serving with Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) and supporting a range of tech issues including privacy, labor, algorithmic accountability, and disability rights.
