Ellie Sakhaee is a Computer Scientist with a wide range of interest in AI-related technology. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Florida, where she worked on the interdisciplinary research area of Inverse Problems with applications to medical imaging, fluid dynamics, and scientific visualization. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on Hardware Architecture.
Ellie has worked at large global companies, a tech startup in Silicon Valley, academia, and has been part of non-profit organizations. In her most recent work as a Lead Machine Learning Scientist at Samsung Inc., she led engineering teams in AI data operations and technical R&D for the development of Autonomous Driving technology. Prior to Samsung, she was with a tech startup, Gauss Surgical, where she developed Computer Vision solutions for applications in healthcare. Ellie also has experience in Deep Learning Hardware Accelerators (specialized hardware for Deep Learning algorithms) deployed on edge devices.
With a passion for realizing climate action, she has been active in grassroots movements towards building the political will for climate legislation. Ellie is keenly interested in the equitable implementation of technology in society and is passionate about the use of technology for addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
