Johncarlo Cerna
Johncarlo is an early-career technologist with experience designing and building software solutions. A cum laude graduate in Computer Science from the University of Florida, he has worn hats as a software engineer, product manager, and researcher. As a former Civic Digital Fellow, he helped scope and develop features for US Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Asylum case management system while gaining insight into the operations and needs of government technology teams.
Johncarlo’s prior work experience also includes interning at Microsoft, where he pushed features for Power BI from idea to shipment, and NASA, where he engineered a data acquisition mobile application for use onboard experimental aircraft.
Johncarlo is interested in creating and advocating for technology as a way for government to better serve its constituents and improve daily operations.
