Julie Lin is a mechanical engineer and non-profit leader who is interested in the intersection of technology and social impact. She spent the last five years at Microsoft working in product design and process and technology development. She has worked on products from initial conception through mass production, helping launch the Surface Laptop 2, 3, Surface Pro 6, X, and Surface Duo 1 and 2. At Microsoft, she also leads several diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Julie is an organizer for Care for Students, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve learning outcomes for public school students through virtual tutoring. She also volunteers as a Board Member and Career Development Co-Chair of the University of Michigan’s Asian/Asian American Pacific Islander Alumni Club.
Julie is an Inclusive Product Management Accelerator (IPMA) Fellow at the University of Washington Foster School of Business and earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
