Rahul Hebbar
Rahul is a technology and policy professional focusing on artificial intelligence and national security. He earned his Bachelor's in Computer Science from Rutgers University, where he interned at Koopid.io as a Machine Learning Intern. This experience showed him that while AI is the future, proactive policy measures are essential to address its societal impacts. He earned a Master's of Public Policy from Duke University, concentrating on technology and national security policy. In 2019, he invested in Tesla, demonstrating his ability to anticipate trends and act decisively; this investment provided him with the financial independence to focus on shaping policy.
While at Duke, he dedicated his Master's Thesis to studying Large Language Model (LLM) chatbots and their alignment with human values. His research uncovered that leading LLMs exhibit biases stemming from their training data and artificial constraints, affecting their perspectives on manipulation, truthfulness, and long-term decision-making.
His mission is to ensure that AI aligns with humanity's best interests. Achieving this requires a comprehensive understanding of technology, policy, and national security—foundations he has diligently built. He is committed to leveraging these skills to influence policies that guide emerging technologies responsibly, protect the United States, and contribute to a better world.
