Stephen Duraiswamy
Stephen Duraiswamy has six years of experience assessing executive branch IT programs for the U.S. Government Accountability Office. He has evaluated cybersecurity controls and technology modernization efforts at the U.S. Department of War, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Census Bureau. Before that, he developed business systems for a supply chain company in the meat and poultry industry. He earned a B.S. in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech.
He recently reviewed the impact of changes to software acquisition processes at the Department of War for the Armed Services Committees. He also analyzed efforts by the Department of Veterans Affairs to remediate security vulnerabilities in critical IT systems.
Stephen looks forward to applying his technology expertise in legislative oversight to shape policy for the common good. He is eager to merge his interests in cybersecurity and defense with a policymaking toolkit, enabling him to contribute to solutions that advance emerging technology and strengthen the defense industrial base.
