Yalini Prabhakaran

Yalini is a product manager with expertise in building AI and data systems that are trustworthy, secure, and privacy-preserving. She most recently worked at Microsoft, where she led the effort to evaluate and mitigate AI harms in frontier coding models. In this role, she worked across research, engineering, and legal teams to redesign the Responsible AI deployment process to support innovation while maintaining strong user protections.

Prior to this, Yalini was a Senior Product Manager at Verkada, a Series E physical security startup, where she established the company's privacy program and launched features enabling user consent, transparency, and misuse prevention for facial recognition technology. Before Verkada, Yalini built security and privacy protections for machine learning infrastructure at Meta.

Yalini believes that technology should be built and deployed in a manner that benefits all parts of society, and is eager to advance this goal through policy work. Her policy interests include AI governance, youth digital safety, and data privacy.

Yalini holds a B.A. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.
