Zach Barnes
House Energy and Commerce Committee Minority Staff
Zach is an engineer and technologist with a specialization in AI and data science. Most of his career focused on turning cutting-edge research into usable solutions. He has developed projects in autonomy, eCommerce, and medicine. Most recently, he worked at a startup designing algorithms for self-driving cars where he worked at the intersection of big data, advanced computer hardware and sensors, and rigorous safety. He holds a MS in computer science from Stanford where he taught AI and conducted research in medical imaging. Before that, he graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a BS in computer engineering where he was awarded a Goldwater Scholarship for research in surgical robotics.
Zach served with the House Energy and Commerce Committee Minority Staff and supported on issues such as autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.
